The Recell Skin Spray technique is a unique, patented process which transforms a thin, split thickness skin sample into a regenerative Epithelial Suspension that can be immediately sprayed or dripped onto wounds to stimulate healthy new skin growth.
The Skin Spray technique has been designed to improve the appearance of scars, it is used for acne scarring, and sun-damaged skin, wrinkles. It especially effective in depigmented lesions associated with Vitiligo and piebaldism, which are can be very difficult to treat with other methods. ReCell skin spray and has safely been used in thousands of procedures worldwide. A small sample of skin is collected from an area of healthy skin. The sample is about the size of a postage stamp.
While the surgeon is preparing the area to be treated, the skin will be placed into the ReCell device. This will separate the cells, with a sophisticated system using a machine and specialist enzymes allowing the surgeon to spray it onto the damaged skin area. The damaged skin is prepared by removing the top layers of skin. The healthy cells are then applied to the wound where they grow and reconstruct a skin that matches the surrounding tissue in texture and colour. After the operation, the treated and donor area will be covered with a dressing.
The area may be numb to begin with and will sting soon after the operation. After about a week your dressing will be removed by the doctor.
